The power of five

The Power of Five:
 This series is fantasy because most of the characters have magical powers and unnatural things happen. Also there are magical creatures which are good and bad. All of the five main characters have a magical power like controlling weather and healing. The master of evil, called chaos, was almost a black hole, there were also shape shifters who could become anyone they wanted. However this series has also aspects of suspense like adventure and danger. The five faced many dangerous adventures such as escaping the forces of evil and fighting a massive army. This explains the genre of my favourite series this year.

Parable

One day, a dog stayed up all night to protect the master’s property. Then suddenly a burglar came and tried to steal the master’s things. The dog warned it’s owner of the burglar and woke him up. But instead of getting a reward, the dog got a beating for waking the master up. The next day the same burglar came back however the dog didn’t bark because he didn’t want a beating. In the morning the dog and the owner woke up and saw that things were stolen. The owner was so angry at the dog, he gave the dog a beating.

This is a parable because it tells something about life and has mostly human characters. We can infer that the message of the story is that life is unfair because even though the dog did the thing that it was supposed to do it got a beating both times. The dog’s master is one of the main characters. This explains how my story is a parable.

The 30 second script

The little fish wanted to have a meal so it found a worm. Unfortunately the worm was to big for it. The little fish stayed around her future food until a gianormous pike came around. The pike was so huge that if the fish could run she would've legged it to the other side of the lake.The little fish swam away and hid behind a layer of thick algae. The massive pike swallowed the worm in one bite. However the pike didn’t know that he also swallowed a hook. The next thing the pike knew, he was out of the water and had become a trophy. The little fish came out of her hiding spot and with a smile said to herself “Sometimes it’s good to be undersize.”.

This is a fable because it has talking animals and a moral. At the end the little fish says, “sometimes being small is useful.” We can infer that the moral of the story is that being small could be good and useful because if the fish could've eaten the worm it would've been caught instead. This explains how this story is a fable.

30 seconds script.

Folktales

The Lady of Lagow Castle

I think this is a myth because it contains features of a folktale such as peasants and commonplace events, it also explains how something happened. It contains a beheading, which at the time was very normal.

Fairy Tale

The Glass Mountain

I think this is definitely a fairy tale because it contains magical objects and magical events. One of the magical objects is the mountain itself and the golden castle. The princess was also enchanted with beauty.

Fables

The Little Fish and the PikeEdit

Espying a worm in the water, the little fish
Did greatly regret the worm could not become his dish.
Up came a pike and made his preparations to dine;
He swallowed both worm and hook, which he failed to divine.
As the angler pulled ashore his magnificent prize,
Quoth the little fish: "Sometimes good to be undersize."
Parable

The Master and His DogEdit

The dog barked all the night, keeping the burglar away;
It got a beating for waking the master, next day.
That night it slept soundly and did the burglar no harm;
He burgled; the dog got caned for not raising alarm.
