Second paragraph

The nuns priest's tale
Fable

A fable has mostly animal charcters, which can usually talk, and a moral throughout the story. The Nuns Priest's tale has both of these features and therefore is a fable. The characters are a talking cock called Chaunticleer, a hen called Pertelote and a fox named Sir. Russel Fox. In the story Chaunticleer says "No fear! I'll see us both damned first!", Pertelote says "Oh Chaunticleer, your dream came true..." and Sir Russell Fox  says "Shucks! I'd better go and raid some dustbins!". At the end the moral is to be careful against flatterers and to keep your mouth shut when it's not supposed to be open. This story is a fable because of it's talking animal characters such as Chaunticleer, Pertelote and Sir Russell Fox and a lesson at the end, which is to be careful against flattery and to not open your mouth when it's supposed to be closed. These were the examples which prove that the nuns priest's tale is a fable.
